Rain Pryor is a dynamic speaker, spokesperson, award winning actress, singer, writer, comedian, and, producer. Now, that's quite a few hats to wear, but, they all fit and every one of them reflects her eclectic mix of Judaism and her African American roots.  She is the daughter of comedian Richard Pryor and Jewish Go-Go Dancer Shelley R. (née Bonus). Largely raised by her Jewish maternal grandparents, they taught her about Jewish culture. Her award-winning solo show Fried Chicken and Latkes explores racism in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In regard to her background, Pryor has joked that while growing up she felt "proud, but guilty about it." HarperCollins published her book Jokes My Father Never Taught Me in 2006. Her talk will be followed by her documentary That Daughter's Crazy.
